Yuni Yoshida
Personal background
Yuni Yoshida is a 37 year old Japanese woman, born and raised in Tokyo japan. She graduated from Joshibi University of Art and Design, to then join Onuki design. Then in 2006 she joined Ucha country as art director. After that she kinda branched out on her own to work on a bunch of photography for different companies. She always uses creativity to tell a story in all her photos which makes her so unique and great.
Style
She is a still life photographer who makes commercial stuff feel like art and makes things abstract. She makes childish but beautiful artwork into great photography that always draws the eye of many. always incorporates lots of stuff and color into one image. Also she incorporates a lot of food and culture in her photos as well. She just overall has a very unique fun style.
philosophy
all of her art work was to show a story in a very unique way. her photos are very personalized to her culture and community to represent the Asian community in a fun abstract way. Her photos were trying to always bring a happy fun feel to any situation or brand. Also she likes to incorporate a lot of foods in her artwork. In general and makes everyday things pop with so much creativity
Influences
Yuni Yoshida influenced me to think more outside of the box and bring a more abstract feel to my photos. In general to just be more creative because she is so creative and her photos are still so amazing. I like the way she makes everything that is not so normal look so normal and put together somehow. She uses her culture and others to influence her photos a lot and also adds her creativity with it. She had always wanted to be a designer and was always very crafty as a kid, it just stuck and works very well.

compare and contrast:
this one was harder to recreate but the similarity are the cube size and the idea is the same. there are differences in the corors, shadows, pineapple itself, and the position and lighting.

Artist statement:
The photos were a lot harder then i originally thought they would be and took me lot of time and effort. for this project it was frustrating because i couldn't get the colors and lighting right and the cubes were time consuming to make but overall i am pretty happy with the effort i put in. Also they still ended up resembling the original photo. I didn't have trouble taking the photos it was just Photoshop that was the problem but i still made it work. Overall I loved to learn about Yuni and i absolutely fell in love with her artwork.
